C'est Pour Moi?

La Chemise || La Redoute
If you are a regular reader of my blog, then you will catch me saying countless times that i never ever wear something once. I am definitely, and proudly (might i add!) a re-user. If your like me and you don't have shares in a bank or every penny is a prisoner, then you try to shop sensibly. When i purchase something, i like to create 3 - 4 outfits - in my head - in order to justify the sale. If you have a 'clever fashion eye' then your wardrobe should consist of staple pieces; 'chic, effortless and timeless'. Items that look great worn different ways…which brings me to La Redoute!

I've teamed up with La Redoute to take some style pointers from the french and to create a capsule wardrobe with key pieces. My item was la chemise. I'm going to show you how, and why i styled it and what occasion it was for.

La Chemise || Look 1
Loose fit shirt; unbuttoned and the pussy bow left undone, styled with tight fitted flared jeans, brown heeled clog boots and a long leather mac. Here i have gone for a relaxed look with a little touch of chicness. I was off to the studio, so i wanted to be comfortable but still look presentable incase any clients decided to pop in. A mac is a great and easy way of creating a french look.

Styling tip - Because the shirt is quite floaty and oversized, if you want to keep it out wearing it with fitted jeans keeps the silhouette girly.

La Chemise || Look 2
Tucked shirt; fastened up with pussy bow, styled with black fitted jeans, oversized boyfriend blazer and chunky cowboy boots. The perfect shopping outfit, I've mixed the patterns for a little touch of fun. I love how the colours in the blazer compliment the shirt. I think this is my favourite way of wearing the shirt - buttoned up with the pussy bow - it kind of looks preppy.  (Also a little cowgirl when i take the blazer off).

Styling tip - If your going to wear a shirt tucked in with skinny jeans, then you need to wear an oversized jacket.

La Chemise || Look 3
Tucked in shirt; unbuttoned with relaxed tied pussy bow and rolled up sleeves, styled with denim flares, brown boots and a floppy hat. Off for lunch at the Botanist Newcastle. I wanted to keep the styling relaxed - for through the day - but adding something special about the look with accessories.  Wearing high waist trousers completely changes the look of the shirt, almost creating a gypsy top feel. Perfect for going into Autumn with.

Styling tip - Don't be afraid to wear oversized bottoms with an oversized shirt. Remember that you have to have something to pull the look together, whether its tucking the shirt and adding a belt or popping on a pendant and hat.

La Chemise || Look 4
Oversized shirt tucked in at the front; buttoned up with pussy bow, styled with an embellished mini skirt, fedora and fringe ankle boots. A casual night out in town. Wearing a floaty shirt with a statement bottom, is a cool way of transforming the shirt for a evening. Its still simple and not too glitzy to be able to pull it off through the day.

Styling tip - Loosing the hat and adding heels would take this outfit to the next level, perfect for a nigh out with the girls.

La Chemise || Look 5
Tucked in shirt; unbuttoned with relaxed tied pussy bow, styled with a long pendant, denim aline skirt and knee high platforms. Today i had a few important meetings, a few things that needed to be done in the studio and i was meeting my partner later for dinner. I wanted to wear something fashionable and kept the shirt relaxed looking. (I also wore a fluffy waistcoat over this, maybe a little too seventies to handle *hiding monkey face*)

Styling tip - Mixing the same tones - in an outfit - is a fun way of tying a look together.
